Sheffield United versus Bournemouth is one of just four Premier League matches taking place this weekend due to the mini winter break. All four games will be televised and this game brings the best value to those looking to place a bet on the weekend’s action.
Chris Wilder’s side would end the weekend in fifth place with three points on Sunday and would be just two behind Chelsea, albeit having played a game extra than both the Blues and Tottenham Hotspur.
At the other end of the table, Bournemouth are just two points above the drop zone and that’s only after a mini shift in form. Eddie Howe’s side have lost 10 of their last 14 Premier League matches, though head to Brammal Lane off the back-to-back victories, over fellow strugglers Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
Prior to that, Bournemouth had been beaten by Norwich City, and thrashed by Watford (0-3), West Ham United (0-4) and Brighton & Hove Albion (0-2) since Boxing Day.
Sheffield United have one of the best defensive records in the Premier League, whilst this weekend’s opponents had really struggled for goals of late. Star striker Callum Wilson is out of form and Ryan Fraser is far short of his productivity from last season.
This all points to a home win for me, and probably with another clean sheet. Although Sheffield United are odds on, they are better priced than both Manchester City and Everton this weekend.
