Sheffield United travel to Southeast London on Saturday with a chance to boost their European credentials even further.
The Yorkshire club start the weekend in eighth place, but are only one point off Manchester United in fifth. What’s more, United host Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are on level points, whilst Tottenham Hotspur in sixth welcome Manchester City to North London. It’s not impossible that the Blades could end the weekend in fifth.
Chris Wilder’s side end a run of very tough away games – losing at Manchester City and Liverpool before their 1-1 draw at Arsenal in their last away game. Prior to this streak they had started the season unbeaten in their first nine away Premier League games.
Sheffield United were 1-0 winners when these two met at Bramall Lane back in August with Crystal Palace really struggling to test Dean Henderson in the host’s goal that day.
The Eagles head into the weekend winless in five, losing 2-0 at home to Southampton last time out. They have also been eliminated by Championship strugglers Derby County in the FA Cup this month.
I am a much bigger fan of Chris Wilder’s tactics than Roy Hodgson’s, whilst it’s Sheffield United who are still in the better form of these two despite their much tougher run of fixtures. I cannotsee Crystal Palace winning on Saturday, whilst their is good value on Sheffield United.
