Aston Villa vs Norwich prediction

Aston Villa will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak when they host joint bottom of the Premier League Norwich City on Boxing Day.

Daniel Farke’s side are winless in their last five Premier League outings and their goals have started to dry up since their 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal on the first day of the month. Norwich had often relied on outscoring their opponents in winning the Championship last season.

Villa’s biggest concern should be getting goals out of their strikers themselves. Wesley is failing to live up to his summer price tag, but they are making it up with goals from midfield. Jack Grealish is in fine form, though John McGinn will be suspended for this one.

The hosts will have other threats on goal through Anwar El Ghazi and Trezeguet and I think they can cause problems from set pieces too.

I like Dean Smith as a tactician and I have confidence in him masterminding a must-needed victory for Aston Villa on Thursday.
