Manchester City can add another dagger into Arsenal’s feint hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League when they visit the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Citizens will be looking to bounce back from their 1-2 loss at home to Manchester United last weekend and you can be sure that Pep Guardiola will have got under the skin of his players. Don’t be surprised if they come at Arsenal from the opening whistle in this one.
Meanwhile, the Gunners were 3-1 winners at a poor West Ham United on Monday – their only win in their fourth game under Freddie Ljungberg, and the only one to date that they have shipped less than two goals.
Indeed, Arsenal’s defence is so leaky at the moment that I can see Manchester City scoring three, four or even more goals on Sunday. Even though Sergio Aguero is sidelined, you can expect the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Raheem Sterling step up in support of striker Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian may not be the most prolific in front of goal but you can expect him to find space inside the penalty area this weekend.
City’s defence isn’t the best themselves, so don’t be surprised if Alexandre Lacazette and/or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang get among the goals too. However, I simply expect the visitors to outscore Arsenal in this one, just like Brighton & Hove Albion did in Ljungberg’s last home game.
