Arsenal travel to Norwich City on Sunday after another disappointing performance midweek. Unai Emery’s side threw away a 1-0 lead at home to Eintracht Frankfurt to lose 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
This result leaves the Gunners winless in six games in all competitions. They are also winless in five in the Premier League, which includes losing both away games to nil – at Sheffield United and Leicester City, whilst being held to draws in three successive home games – against Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton.
Sure, Norwich may be in the bottom three, but with their attack I fancy them to get a result against a confidence-ridden Arsenal side. What’s more, I am failing to understand why the bookmakers have them as odds on favourites this weekend.
Daniel Farke’s side have looked good going forward this season and are coming off the back of a 2-0 win away to Everton. Todd Cantwell is looking like a good threat down the left wing, and whilst Teemu Pukki has gone eight Premier League matches without a goal, I would not be surprised if he breaks that duck against the Arsenal defence.
That’s because David Luiz and co look anything but secure at the back. Their only clean sheet in their last 12 came at home to Bournemouth, whilst they allowed Southampton to score twice at the Emirates last week. I think there’s great value in laying Arsenal on Sunday.
