Watford’s tough start under Quique Sanchez Flores continued last weekend as the Hornets’ 8-0 thrashing at Manchester City was followed up with a 2-0 loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers – the West Midlands’ first win of the Premier League campaign.
The Hertfordshire club have taken just two points from their opening seven matches and are already four points from safety with the worst goal difference in the division.
Sheffield United have performed well following their promotion, considering most fans and bookmakers had them down to finish bottom heading into the season. Chris Wilder’s side have taken eight points from their first seven matches back in the top flight, and start the weekend are 12th.
Given the form of these two sides and performances on the field I am surprised to see Watford as the favourites and almost as short as evens. This is a game where I see the visitors to Vicarage Road picking up at least a point and I actually fancy them to win.
